Brick Balloon is an ongoing project suspended between instances of exhibition and the tenuous idea of a floating proposition. Like most cultural labors not designed in advance to draw a financial profit, Brick Balloon must inflate its own purpose to guarantee its materialization. It invents itself from nothing as it were: we observe a balloon that requires a brick only to find that the brick is at the mercy of the inflationary value of the balloon.
